NDIS price limits 2026-27

NDIS price guide 2026-27 for support workers

The most you can charge a participant's plan for the supports independent support workers bill most, in every time band. Read straight from the NDIA's Support Catalogue 2026-27, in force from 1 July 2026: the same 976-item list George checks every invoice against. The NDIA now publishes the limits as the NDIS Pricing Schedule; most people still call it the price guide.

Updated . Checked against the sources at the end of the page.

The short answer

For 2026-27, standard self-care support on a weekday daytime is capped at $73.58 an hour (up from $70.23 in 2025-26). Evenings are $81.07, Saturdays $103.54, Sundays $133.50 and public holidays $163.46.

These are maximums. The price that applies is the one in force on the day you delivered the support, not the day you invoice it.

How the price limits work

  • They're maximums. Your rate is what your service agreement says, at or under the limit for the band the shift falls in.
  • The delivery date decides the price. Not the invoice date. Shifts either side of 1 July bill at different prices, sometimes under different item numbers.
  • The time band is set by when the shift ran. Weekday daytime, evening and night, Saturday, Sunday and public holidays each have their own item number. Billing a Saturday shift on the weekday number is a common reason an invoice comes back.
  • Travel to the participant has its own line. It's claimed per kilometre on the support's "Provider travel - non-labour costs" item, only where the support allows it and the participant agreed to it beforehand. See claiming travel kilometres.
  • Who's held to them. Plan managers and the NDIA check every line against the limit. Self-managed participants aren't bound by them.

Common questions

What is the NDIS price guide?

It's the everyday name for the most a provider can charge for each NDIS support. The NDIA used to publish it as the Pricing Arrangements and Price Limits; for 2026-27 it's the NDIS Pricing Schedule, effective 24 September 2026, with the Support Catalogue listing every item's number and price. The 2026-27 catalogue has 976 priced items and runs from 1 July 2026 to 30 June 2027.

Which year's price do I use when a shift was before 1 July?

The year the support was delivered in. A shift worked on 28 June and invoiced on 3 July bills at the June price, and sometimes under last year's item number. George prices every line off its own shift date for this reason.

Can I charge less than the price limit?

Yes. The limits are the most you can charge, not a set fee. Your rate is whatever you and the participant agree in your service agreement, as long as it's at or under the limit.

Do the price limits apply to self-managed participants?

No. The NDIA's Pricing Arrangements say self-managed participants aren't bound by the price limits. Plan-managed and NDIA-managed participants' supports are held to them, and a claim above the limit is knocked back.

What are the remote and very remote prices?

Higher limits for supports delivered in areas the NDIA classes as remote or very remote. Use the national price unless the participant lives in one of those areas.

When do NDIS prices change?

Every 1 July, when the NDIA publishes a new catalogue, often with only days of notice, and item numbers can be retired as well as repriced. Updates can also land part-way through a year. This page reads the list George has loaded, so it changes the day a new one goes in.
